2. Hammer
The function of the hammer is to help us better fix the skirting line on the wall.
3. Nails or screws
Some baseboard installations are done directly with adhesive. However, some types of baseboards require the installation of bottom clips and baseboard fasteners. At this time, we need to use nails or screws to fix the accessories so that the skirting can be installed better in the future.
4. Steel ruler or tape measure
This tool is used to measure the length and angle of the wall to ensure that our skirting can be cut to a specific length.
5. Adhesive
This tool is designed for nail-free baseboard installation. They are used to apply film to the back of the baseboard to ensure that the baseboard can be firmly installed on the wall.
6. Gloves and installation goggles
Gloves are used to protect our hands from scratches during the installation process. Goggles protect us from injury when cutting metal skirting.
7. Edge trim

1. Clean the location where the skirting boards are installed
After completing the preparation of the installation tools, we first need to clean the baseboard installation location to ensure that the installation location is clean, flat, and free of uneven places and unnecessary obstacles.
2. Measure the length and cut the skirting boards
Use a steel ruler or tape measure to measure the length of the wall, making sure the length of the baseboard cut matches the length of the wall. Then use a saw or metal cutter to cut the baseboards.
3. Install skirting board snap fittings
Some models of skirting boards are equipped with bottom buckle accessories, so we first need to install these bottom buckles and fix them with nails or screws.
4. Install skirting board
Attach the base plate to the bottom buckles and make sure they are secure.
For baseboards that do not require bottom buckles, use adhesive to evenly apply the film on the back of the baseboards, and then stick the baseboards to the wall to complete the fixation.
5. Install base plate accessories
Most baseboard products will come with a left-end cap, right-end cap, connection fitting, inside corner fitting, and outside corner fitting.
6. Peel off the skirting board surface protective film
After all the baseboards are installed, we need to peel off the protective film on the baseboards.
